Storm dumps most snow on central parts of Maine

Central parts of the state reported the highest Tuesday snowfall totals as of Wednesday morning, according to National Weather Service data.

That means good snow (finally) for some of the state’s major ski areas. Carrabassett Valley reported 10 inches of snow as of 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

By this morning, Stetson reported the highest total, with one foot of new snowfall.

Stations Downeast also reported among the highest totals in the state, with a station in Princeton reporting 11 inches and last winter’s season-long chart topper, Eastport, reporting 9 inches of new snow.

The data above reflect the latest reports as of Wednesday morning, but might undercount snowfall in some areas where the latest reports were Tuesday afternoon or earlier.
