Map: Bangor area tops statewide snowfall totals

The blizzard and “bomb cyclone” that hit Maine Thursday dumped two feet of snow in the Bangor area, with a report of 24 inches in Holden, beating Bangor’s 18.3 inches and surpassing forecasts of roughly a foot of snow.

The snowfall totals, as of Friday morning, reflect reports out of both the Gray and Caribou offices of the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service office in Gray accepts snowfall reports via social media (@NWSGray), if you’ve got a ruler (or yardstick) around, as the case may be.
